SECURE THIS PIECE →In this piece, I portray myself amidst an inner struggle. Seventeen figures depict facets of my own self—doubts, temptations, emotions, and vices—each impeding my path toward liberation. Titled Led by the Ego or Acti Ego in Latin), the work captures the self’s challenge to gain control. Among these figures, only two have faces: one who succumbs and one who resists, symbolizing that faceless negativity obstructs the path to self-revelation.
The figure who falls surrenders to his burdens, unable to fight back, while the one who stands resists subjugation. Both figures are of equal dimension, yet the one at the pyramid’s apex defies perspective, casting his presence over all. This figure, projecting himself above the rest, represents an isolated moment of my inner weakness—a distant memory.
Set within an intensely red, interwoven space that evokes unrest deep within, the scene blurs the line between the physical and the metaphysical. This spatial motif, with its layered and knotted waves, will be a recurring element throughout this series.
