SECURE THIS PIECE →In the work titled Inertia, I portray a state of aimless wandering of the soul, a condition arising from the loss of its center of gravity. I sought to depict the soul, which according to Heraclitus, is a flame, and for it, death signifies a transformation into water. This wandering occurs through a space where the soul, uncertain of its final destination, moves without knowing its true position in the world. It pulsates within the environment it traverses, embodying the tension between anticipation and the inability to foresee its next stage.
The depiction of the soul's struggle reflects the human condition, as we often find ourselves caught in a cycle of inertia, yearning for purpose yet feeling adrift. Each pulsation represents a heartbeat of existence, a reminder of our innate desire to connect and to find meaning in a chaotic world.
As the soul navigates through this liminal space, it encounters the paradox of existence: the interplay between movement and stillness. This tension highlights the fragility of our journeys, where each step forward can feel both liberating and burdensome. In exploring the essence of inertia, I invite viewers to contemplate their own paths, recognizing that even in moments of uncertainty, there lies the potential for transformation and self-discovery.
